Way hey found somewhere more expensive than WDW!

Sitting in Naples airport waiting to return home from our week in Amalfi.
Stunningly beautiful we had a great week. It says something when the prices in the airport are way cheaper than the resort.
We stayed just outside Amalfi and used busses to get around, only €1.30 a ticket, the only bargain to be had. It was useless to hire a car as there is no where to park. One day I saw 4 cars being towed.
Taxis were a fortune, €20 for a six minute ride. We were quoted €80 for a 10 mile journey.
Food was OK, about €100 - €140 for a meal for two with wine.
Saying all that it was wonderful but I will never ever say WDW is expensive again!

that is expensive ! My youngest came home with a four night trip to Rome and the Naples area for geography school trip at a price of £850, which makes sense now given the examples you quoted.

Goodness me. We find Italy to be quite inexpensive - we have been to Rome, Florence and Tuscany area. We are going to Sorrento/Amalfi Coast next year. Have you been anywhere else in Italy and how does it compare pricewise.

Not been to Italy for 30 years so can't compare. I think it was the taxi fares that got me the most!
