couple days in London - ideas?
Myself,DD,DD (14)and DS (13) are going to London for a couple of days next week. We've booked to see Annie and will be doing the usual London attractions. Has anyone got any other ideas that the children might like... (other than the norm)
Thanks |

HMS Belfast is a bit of a different idea and popular with people at work with similar aged children. The Emirates airline is also a bit different and you could have lunch in the O2 at the other side

Also at the o2 if any of you are Star Wars fans there is the Star Wars Identities exhibition. We went last month, it is interactive and has lots of original props.

Just done this with my dd as needed to get Visa at the American embassy. We did the bigbus hop on hop off tour, which included a boat ride on the Thames. It was fab and we got to see all the major landmarks. Well worth it.
You can also climb to the top of The Monument for I think £1.50 each; by South Bank there is the biggest roof garden in London which is free to visit - amazing views over the Thames - book tickets on line. Wish we'd had time to visit the tower properly. Also get some pictures of Big Ben before it's covered in scaffolding as it is falling down and about to undergo major works.

The lego and M&Ms shop in Leicester Square is always fun.
The O2 has the emirates cable cars but also has a thing called "Up at the O2" where you can actually walk up and over the O2 dome, which is a lot of fun and not too pricey! We did it a few months ago and loved it. London Dungeons is fun. There is a crazy golf place in Shoreditch in an underground warehouse (kids can play during the day) called "JunkYard Golf" which is really cool

Geoffa has just done a report on a tour, looked amazing!
Last year we did a BB Bakery bus tour with afternoon tea, not hop on hop off, was very good

Not sure if it's right for you but you can join historic royal palaces as a member and get unlimited access to Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Hampton court Palace and Kew Palace (still have to pay to get into the gardens to access the palace though) . Whether you could fit this in I'm not sure but it gives you access for 12 months or if you sign up to direct debit I think it's £10 off plus 3 months extra.

Hi we have just come back from a few days in London. We did the emirates air line which both dd's enjoyed. We visited Buckingham palace and the sky garden which as mentioned above is free. We also went to the ice bar which was great. You stay in the ice bar for 40 mins and get a cocktail or mock tail for under 18's in a glass made of ice. Can be booked online 😀
