Do not let any resturants take your card away they all have machines you can use at the table or go to the desk dont if you are leaving cash as a tip put it on the table according to friends who live here it's becoming a big issue with other dinners lifting it even in the parks
I'veonly been asked once this week at all even when paying some large amounts for things at the villa and that was in a very small specialist quilting store even although they know me well as Ido at least one sewing lunch per trip |

You quite right, I should have really followed her to the desk. But being Universal, you'd think it would be safe. I've now locked the card in-app just in case.
The tip I handed to her personally. I don't like leaving cash unattended as you don't know it will end up with your server. Or like you say, someone may lift it. |

All Disney restaurants I used also took the card for payment. Then returned with a slip to sign
In fact nearly all restaurants did this. We tipped in cash A few shops used chip and pin, but still found most used the magstripe most often

Our friends daughter works in one of Disneys Signature restaurants she's a student and since Easter she's found that only Uk guests are actually handing cash tips to them and anything left on the table frequently goes awall and she knows it's not guests not giving a tip but by the time she's delt with dinners and goes to clear her tables it's gone and it's rife at the moment she says
She also says she's can tell seasoned dibbers as she's had a few mouseating envelopes which her colleagues found odd till, she explained mousekeeping envelopes they love them she says Edited at 02:42 AM. |

We are in California and have had varying ways of paying with card. I think at least once we have had chip and pin. We have also had swiping down the side of the pad with signature on the receipt and even signing on the screen with your finger.
Generally Revolut and Fair FX have been fine, but petrol stations can be problematic. I know some are reluctant to use cards due to potential fraud issues. At the pump I have tried to use both without success. Some haven't worked due to needing to put in a zipcode. Some just haven't worked. They have generally been accepted by the cashier. With cash you need to estimate the amount you can put into the tank and then prepay it. If you can't get that amount in, you then have to queue again to get the difference refunded. The most frustrating experience we had was turning up at the petrol station next to Yosemite. I wanted to top up only, thankfully. Best part of $5 per gallon. I tried to go in, but the cashier had closed so I couldn't pay cash. I then wasn't able to use my pre paid cards in the pump, so I had the double whammy of expensive fuel and credit card rates. Oh well! Not the end of the world. Especially as were going into one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen.

Another advantage post holiday with Revolut is that I have converted the surplus Dollars back to Sterling and am now using it to buy in the UK.
