Barmouth Wales

Never been but DH spent the day there last yr and said it looked gorgeous. Thinking of booking a week there next summer after Florida.
Is it a nice place?

We have been a few times over the years

We had many happy holidays there when our children were younger. Took our folding camper to a site very near the beach (across a railway) down a very steep hill to the site. We have very fond memories of our time there. Don't hesitate to book in my opinion.

Its great on a sunny day but to be honest a day is more than enough unless thinking of using Barmouth as a base, in which case think I'd choose somewhere else anyway - maybe Porthmadog
There really isn't much to actually do in Barmouth and the parking meters hardly ever work so you need to be careful you don't come back to a penalty charge, used to be free to park up along the beach - a couple of hundred yards, the town would be rammed, now more often than not its empty.

We have just booked a cottage in a village called Ysbty Ifan near Betws y Coed with Sykes Cottages online for next summer.
They had lots of choices and were reasonably priced compared to many other companies we priced.
We live in South Wales but haven't been to North Wales for many years so we are really looking forward to it.
Barmouth is very nice as is Porthmadog. Lots of beautiful places to visit in the area.
