I can understand your point of view however, I am the opposite. I have a modest shopping list for other people and am very excited to be shopping for others. I even offered on the dibb asking for anyone needing anything, LOL!

We are not going until next may and already have been asked for a fair few bits.

I am happy to pick up bits and bobs but not go on a major expedition to find stuff

Luckily though it is mainly peanut butter m & M's and hersheys hugs n kisses. I wonder how many packs I can get in one case!

Last time we went a friend of my Mums asked us to buy a bottle of certain St Ives body lotion out there. We looked in Walgreens & Publix, but couldn't find the one she wanted. When we told her, instead of saying never mind, we got 'you can't have been looking properly' . That's the last time I try to help someone.

I normally buy a couple of 'smallish' things for friends if asked but this time I've decided not to - the allowance is so miniscule I'm not going to waste any of it!

just been for 3 weeks and took 2 extra empty suitcases on the way out for my 2 DD's shopping list
managed to bring back

1 pair Timberlands
1 pair Converse
various T-shirts

6 large packets chips ahoy cookies(double choc)

and 8 (yes eight!) boxes of lucky charm cereal

took the lucky charms out of their boxes-god knows what the customs would have thought if they'd searched me!

I so know this problem! Ive been asked by several people to get them things. To make it worse they haven't offered any money and have just said...bring me back a bargain! They have even told me how much room I will have in my case and how few clothes I must take!

I don't usually mind bringing little things that are easy to find but there is nothing more annoying than spending ages trawling shops for something particular someone wants.

I just say now "well if I see one on my travels I will get it but I can't promise". I also say that if it takes me over my allowance, they may have to repay me the customs charge if I get caught!
