Theme Park Attendance Report

Themed Entertainment Association have released the 2011 attendance figures of the theme parks around the world. It is interesting to see that Walt Disney World managed to increase their 2011 attendance by about 1% over the 2010 figures. However this is dwarfed by Universal Islands of adventures 29% increase.

Universals 29% increase is obviously due to the very popular Harry Potter attractions. This has also had a knock on effect for Universal Studios Orlando as the parks figures increased by 2% again more than the Walt Disney Parks.

Great to see the numbers at Disney increasing. It should encorage continued investment. Also interesting to see that the Japanese earthquake last year only had a relatively small impact on visitors there.

You'd think that MK will push ahead again with the Fantasyland expansion.

Should be interesting to see the effect the Fnatasyland expansion and subsequent marketing will have on these figures over the next 12 months.

Im suprised at the huge difference between MK and DHS .. i kind of assumed that most people were like us and visitied all 4 parks in the time they were there.
