Lakes tips/esp dog friendly

Hi all,
I’m going to the lakes next month with my dog.
I have a few days in Kendal, and a few in Windermere, but I have a car and happy to drive anywhere.
Any tips. Especially dog friendly would be much appreciated
Thanks

Go to Grasmere lovely to walk round village. grab some gingerbread from the gingerbread shop and savour the moment.

keswick has plenty of nice walks. I tend to park near the leisure centre as it is free, then walk alongside the park into town, grab some food (we like java cafe for snacks and oddfellows for food) before a walk to the lake edge (to feed the mad ducks of course) heading back via booths path.

Another +1 for grasmere. Easy walk around the river, you can do a circuit from the school all the way around the village. The river is calm enough for dog swimming at rhe village hall end. Free parking is limited but possible both before and after the swan hotel on the 591.

If you feel a bit more adventurous, the walk up to easedale tarn is accessible enough and quite rewarding on a nice day.

If you are an NT member then there are free drinks in the house (name escapes me at this moment) *no parking though. There is a nice walk around the grounds here too.

We have been the last 2 years with me, dh, ds and Molly the lab, we love Brockholme near Windmere, lovely place to walk the dog and really dog friendly you can even take them in the shop we sat outside in the cafe. Fell foot was good with the dog they had meadow field walk and cafe. Sizergh was nice for for walking there are about 3 different walks the only place Molly could not go was gardens, but DS was not interested and took her on walk. Coniston has some really nice walks, Wray Castle we went here from Brockholme on the boat we did stay downstairs with Molly. We went to Hawkshead, Grasmere and Keswick. The only time Molly was not happy was in Windermere town centre we think it was too busy, too many people so she got a bit stressed.

We are members of the National Trust worth it for some of the car parks are free for members, everywhere we have been is really dog friendly from cafes, to pubs and shops. Molly went for some good long walks and some short ones we are going again at the end of April, we stay in some cottages in Ings they have a good pub Watermill Inn and Brewery they make there own beer and meals are good plus dogs are welcome too and can have there own bowl.

You will have lovely time and your dog will enjoy it too, we also used the buses they had one from Kendal to Keswick think it was 505, 599 was Windermere to Grasmere, we used this with Molly a number of times you pay all day ticket, we have had 3 day one and can hop on and off the buses, if you do not want to drive.

Tarn hows is a beautiful dog friendly walk. Car park just there but gets busy so we go early (take some coins). We then go to the black bull in coniston for lunch. Also dog friendly.
If you want to go further afield morecambe has a beautiful promenade now with great views over the lakes. Nice for a non muddy dog walk.

We loved Grasmere, most of the shops and restaurants/cafes are dog friendly and there is a beautiful lakeside walk.

And she managed to visit every pub on the way so if any recommendations needed she can certainly help! 😂
