I used to love Camden, went 2 weeks ago on a Saturday and it was bloody hideous, I could not get out of there fast enough. Only ended up there as we walked from the zoo, but wow, awful.
2004-2010 I loved a walk round and a drink. Will never choose to go back. If I did would have to be a random week day, was a Saturday last time

Its quite small but there are some nice stalls and little shops around the edge. If she gets chance then Spitalfields is better.

I really like Borough market, tend to pop in there when I visit London (last time was a few years back though maybe 2018 or 2019). Especially like the Turkish delight there and always buy a box or two to bring home with me! I tend to recommend Borough market as a place to visit to friends visiting London.

Only ever been to Camden market once maybe in the early 2010s, but remember being really bored there as there wasn't anything there that really interested me.

Also only ever been to Portobello market once, it was OK but to be honest I was a bit more interested in the Hummingbird Bakery in that area!

We like Brick Lane

plenty of interesting stalls to mooch about, loads of street food stalls or sit down places if you fancy a curry

dont mind Camden to be honest, is what it is & some good interesting/historic pubs up there to have a drink, walked from Kings X along the canal

I like Smithfields - it's great if you want loads of different food stalls to choose from. Maltby Street is also a lovely food market (weekends only) - it's tucked away just down from Tower Bridge.

I don't dislike Camden Market but it's a lot more commercialised than it used to be and can get absolutely rammed at peak times.

I really like the food at Spitalfields but it gets pretty manic in there at busy times so haven't been since having a kid as can't face it. The duck truck just outside is amazing!
