ESTA social media question

So doing ours today before the price goes up !

whats the consensus on the above? seemingly it says optional ? so not a deal breaker ?

one more thing to worry about ?

It's optional. I skipped all five of my family applications and it was fine

Social media details were always optional on E.S.T.A
Trump made it mandatory to add social media details on the E.S.T.A
Biden switched it back to optional.

Both the Trump change and the Biden change were just done and never officially announced.

I have never completed it and done estas under both. Not entirely convinced either administration would be interested in such minor details. No way to use that detail in an automated esta check anyway. More valuable for a manual person check.

Yep, skipped it. Surely anyone for whom it might be useful (ie terrorists) wouldn’t be daft enough to say they were a regular contributor on letsbombpeople dot com (fictional I hope!)
