Definitely let them know.
If it's a chain restaurant and we had had bad service then perhaps I would keep quiet.

Not food. But I recently noticed no charge in my credit card for my hair cut and colour. (I had tapped but as we were chatting it wasn't noticed it hadn't gone through properly)

I like them, want to go back and a small business so I called and have to pay double next time. Ouch! I drive an hour to get to my hairdresser...

Larger chain that I wouldn't care if I didn't return to, may not have been so honest 😂

I actually was last week, two drinks left off my bill. I heard my big mouth telling her as soon as I noticed. I surprised myself to be honest.

Rightly or wrongly this is what I would do.

I wouldn't necessarily notice, but if I did it would depend where I was.

I can remember once telling the local curry house.

I can also remember when I was much younger us all going out to All Bar One iin Notting Hill. We paid for our drinks but it wasn't until the next morning we realised none of us had paid for the food/nibbles!

Mostly I don’t check the bill except a cursory glance.
Twice in my life I checked it found something missing, and drew it to the attention of the wait staff.
If I hadn’t done that I wouldn’t have even bothered responding to this thread. Or just voted maybe.

I always check and tell them - don't want the waiter to have pay for it. Sometimes they tell me it's fine, sometimes they update the bill. If I'd complain when overcharged, I have to advise when under-charged.
