"is there DVC discount?" - 14 night on-site WDW food report

Introductions

Bienvenue 🍷

After a good 9 years or so reading everyone else's food reports I thought I'd have a bash at my own.

I've just returned after 14 glorious nights at the Mouse and thought what better way to cry into my Tesco Value ice cream than whilst looking back at all the delicious food I won't be eating until my next trip (whenever that may be).

This trip was me and one other, who I won't be mentioning as I didn't bother snapping any of their different versions of chicken and taters (soz not soz). 🤷🏼

As for me, I am a seasoned Disney veteran. This was my 8th trip, 6th on site, 1st DVC and 1st without the
free DDP. Single professional that lives & works in London so bare in mind that really everything in WDW is cheaper than at home for me. 😂

Quick breakdown of festivities...

22/01/22 - 24/01/22 - Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village

24/01/22 - 28/01/22 - Boardwalk Villas

28/01/22 - 05/02/22 - Copper Creek Villas

I will try and add a contents page in the future. ☺️

And now onto the food!

Contents:

Day 1

London Heathrow Amex Centurion Lounge
Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy LHR - MCO
Animal Kingdom Lodge - The Mara

Day 2

Animal Kingdom Snacktime

Day 1 - London Heathrow T3

As much as I love El&N (Spanish Lattes are to die for), I wanted to make the most out of the Amex Centurion Lounge so headed straight there.

Plenty of breakfast offerings in a posh buffet style. However, if you are a fussy eater or not a fan of Mediterranean flavours for the most important meal of the day then this is not for you.

I grabbed a plate of Breakfast Potatoes with Chickpeas and Peppers. It was dry. I am glad the bartender convinced me to get a mimosa as it was well needed to help it go down. It wasn't awful, but definitely glad I wasn't paying for it. I know other reviews have mentioned the temperature of the food being under par and I would agree.

Coffee machine was standard self service. Again, nothing special. The saving grace was that the lounge itself was very clean and quiet. Although, LHR's Special Assistance team did not come and collect me as promised so I definitely got to experience the fact it is quite the journey from the VA gates...

Would I return?
Honestly, probably not. As much as I adore a freebie, I think I would have been happier and less stressed sitting in one of the other eateries in the main departure lounge. The lack of bottled water or snacks to shove in ya bag for the plane was also a bit disappointing, and sometimes you do just want a bag of crisps.

Overall Rating: 6/10

Hahahahaha... We can blame the "no discount on alcohol" for that one 😂
