Afternoon tea at The Shard

Hi my DD is taking me here for my Mother’s Day treat and I’m wondering if anyone has been lately and could advise on how strict their dress code is?

According to their website no sports wear allowed and that includes trainers! I was intending to wear a dress and trainers (not obvious named trainers but more a trainer looking shoe) and DD lives in trainers like Nike AF1…..will they allow us in?

We will otherwise be smartly dressed….don’t really want to wear heels as plan lots of walking!

Thanks for reading

I would think you'd be OK. If it's Aquashard, it's an enormous, busy restaurant and I don't think they'd bat an eyelid. You'll be smart in a dress anyway. I've just checked back our pics and I suspect we were both wearing ankle boots, DH in black jeans and open neck shirt and me in a dress. It was October.

I always use a large smart tote bag and take my shoes to change into.

I was just going to say that I would bring a pair of shoes to change into too.
