BA special assistance
We normally fly direct but this time we one stop Glasgow to Gatwick to Orlando
One member of our party has booked BA special assistance as has breathing and mobility issues But can still walk but not far distance like whole airport Then we through at Gatwick will he need stay in wheelchair as he likes have look at couple shops and prefers to walk to this But at same time he’s worried people think oh he doesn’t need chair he definitely does for long distance |

My sister used to feel exactly the same way. She has hip issues and used to not want to do the airport in a wheelchair because people look at you like you are faking it when you can then get up and walk around. After a few trips however where she tried to request a chair after security she realised that it was just easier all around to accept the help straight away and just put up with weird looks.
I'm registered blind and always get the "she doesn't look disabled" looks when I get to board a plane early. Some things you just have to accept will never change unfortunately. I know my limitations and have to accept them, and getting on a plane with a mass of people would be a nightmare for me and I'd end up either stepping on them or having a melt down so I know which is the better option even if the rude judgemental people don't
