Sports events
Hi everyone ☺ our son is interested in seeing a sporting event whilst we are at Disney in October, doesn't matter if its baseball, football or basketball. Has anyone got any recommendations?

We saw the tampa bay bucs vs chigaco bears in 1996. Very enjoyable, great atmosphere and family friendly. Saw baseball game in san francisco which again was great and family friendly but i dont think the tampa bay rays are playing at home in october unless they make the play offs.

Ice Hockey!
Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL at the Amelie Arena in Tampa or Orlando Solar Bears in the ECHL 2 leagues below the NHL at the Amway Center.

Tampa Bay Lightning ice hockey is such an experience, it’s like a music concert and sporting event combined, so much entertainment.

Depending on your dates there is also UCF Knights football team who play in Orlando. Unless you support a particular NFL team then the NCAA games are still a good standard.

There’s also UCF Knights basketball team! We saw a game there in December as well as an Orlando Magics game and I actually preferred the college game 😊

October is Football season.
NHL starts mid Oct. MLB will be in playoffs which means expensive tickets if Florida teams are even involved (Rays might be). NBA and NCAA Basketball won't have started. |

Has anyone been to a pre-season Orlando Magic game? Looking on their website and there are a few while we are staying on-site at universal. So just up the road😊. The season starts when we are staying in Formosa gardens so my question is, are we better waiting or can we get a good American basketball experience from a pre-season game?
