Tell me about Winter Haven

Looking to pick up car here, so thinking of making it a day out! DH loves looking at antique type shops and see there are a few good ones here, what else is there to do here and how easy is it to get around when in Winter Haven. DD loves a Walmart-Target/$tree too!

The Walmart at Winter Haven is huge DH jokes I need a tracker on me in there
You have small Beals Marshalls TK etc they are all spread out though on strip Malls
There are some lovely boat trips on the lakes or walks round them
The Twisted Teapot does a lovely afternoon tea
There’s
Loads of little speciality shops as well as Antique , thrift stores etc
The usual chain restaurants Olive Garden Lomghorn Ruby Tuesdays etc
The Mannys in Winter Haven is our go to one
There are also some nice fish restaurants Harry’s Place , Harbour Side and slightly further and you’ll need a sat nav Cherry Pocket
If you are going past the Walmart in Haines City right by it is a large antique / stuff store called Pickers Paradise worth a look I’ve picked a couple of really nice bits of milk glass some of the stuff is just junk but they do occasionally have some good vintage Disney stuff
There also a farmers Market

Sorry to a pain - is the car hire place just by Walmart? Opposite the Olive Garden?

there’s 2 Walmarts in Winter Haven the one nearest Olive Garden is the smallest
Publix is also near Olive Garden
That Hertz location is currently shut but due to open September this year it’s the airport one that is open at the minute
The other Walmart is on the way in to WH from the 27 using what’s sign posted Lego Land
It’s on the left hand side its much bigger there also a Publix on the way in from that junction on the right
Dollar Trees every where as are Dollar General
I will try to nip down to WH when im out for the cheeky week I have in June and grab some pictures
I use the other entrance to go to the airport pick up
Going through Lake Alfred there are a couple of Antique shops on that route as well as an Amish Store

Thank you- pics would be great- Definetly looking here for the car hire, so we need to go to airport one! And an even bigger Walmart - DH will be pleased (Not!) . Luckily DD too big for Legoland and would I have prefer a trip to Walmart and dollar store! DH and his antique shops so we are all happy!

There is a great video on Downtown Winter Haven, by a chap called chrislostinflorida. He is a Brit, but now lives in Winter Haven. It looks a really lovely place.

Not in Winter Haven but Lake Alfred so not that far apart but a place we love going to is Barn Antiques and have a picnic lunch at the Back Porch. barnantiques.biz/
