I almost always stay at Pop but one trip stayed for a night at All Stars Movies and didn't like it as much as Pop for a number of reasons. (I might have been unlucky, but for my All Stars Movies stay check in was chaotic and took forever, they downgraded me from a preferred room to a regular room without telling me or even giving me a chance to object and I might never have realised if I didn't know what were preferred rooms, bell services and the endless queuing to get my luggage nearly made me miss the Magical Express... None of this has ever happened in my many stays at Pop! Plus the shared buses I encountered at the All Stars were painfully slow...)

Skyliner is also a major plus for Pop now, I stayed at Pop in 2019 when the Skyliner was in operation and I loved it as a way to get to/from Epcot and DHS.

I also love Hourglass lake at AoA/Pop... one trip I decided to go on a jog around the lake and the path that goes around the lake is really lovely.

Transport links wise - Pop wins by far because of the Skyliner. In terms of location Pop is slightly more central than the All Stars (which are more to the West side of WDW) but it takes forever to get to/from the parks by the bus system anyway that I don't think it makes a huge difference for bus transport.
Thanks for this, great info.
Can I ask when you say the busses take forever, what do you mean? Are they slow, or lots of stops?

Would defo stay at pop having stayed recently at okw and having to use the buses that were unreliable at times.
Pop and other resorts that share the skyliner definitely had the advantage to get into the parks at 30mins before off-site guests. Other resorts with buses were missing out on the 30 mins due to bus issues

The 60s section - the pool is so popular and was open until 11pm plus the music going it did get noisy! We were in the 50s section and it was perfect
This is great, thank you!
What time does the skyliner open in the morning? How long does it take to get to each park?

Oh that’s interesting, thanks for responding, so am I right in thinking you still need to get the bus from pop to MK and AK? What was your experience of these like?

You can get the skyliner to Epcot then walk through epcot to get the monorail to mk. But this is of no benefit for the 30 min mornings as it would take more than 30 min to get from the skyline to entrance of mk but is an option at other times.

Ak is bus only but doesn't seem to be a problem as majority seem to be heading towards other parks

We've just returned from our WDW trip which involved 6 nights at Pop and 8 at SSR. We really loved Pop, the refurbished rooms are really nice and the skyliner was a massive plus. As a resort, SSR was much nicer (well it is a deluxe!) but we did find the reliance on buses frustrating after having the skyliner. Using the skyliner it only took 10 minutes to get to HS and 20 to get to Epcot. There's also only a single bus stop at Pop so it didn't take too long to get the bus to MK and AK, I think it took ~15 minutes to MK and 10 to AK. In contrast, the bus from SSR takes 15 minutes just going around the bus stops as the resort is so large. We found it very easy to get to HS and Epcot for early entry on the skyliner as there were rarely long queues for the skyliner. The only long wait we had was leaving Epcot after Harmonious, but even then we were back at the resort in about 45 minutes.

Thank you so much for this, this is so helpful and exactly what I was hoping for.
