We've been twice before when our boys were young:
First time they were 3.5 abd 1.5. The youngest was too young tbh and wasn't keen on characters and I had trouble with him sleeping, napping etc but the eldest loved it. We didn't go to the fireworks and were done by 6pm each day. The second time, they were 5 and 2.5 This visit was much better and we were able to do more rides, enjoyed the characters etc. They were also able to stay up late fir the fireworks one night too. We are going again next week and they're now 8.5 and 6.5. Talking about DLP, they don't remember much but are tall enough for everything so will be a different experience. I think it's what you make of it and each child is different to how they'll react to things. Whatever you decide to do, I'd say pace yourself and take cues from your children and what they need 🙂

We have taken ours since they were little and every trip has been different but just as good.
First took dd at 6 months and she obviously didn’t understand much but enjoyed all the bright colours etc.. She’s 11 now and we go every other year. |

I don't think there is an ideal age tbh. I think every age can be special.
DS has been at 17mths, 24mths. Then at our trip last week DS is 4.5yrs and DD is 15mths. It was absolutely magical for both of ours going at such a young age. I must admit we had none of the problems above, ours loved the rides, loved the characters, slept and napped fine, and stayed up for the fireworks with no problems either. It was amazing watching them see everything with such wonder. Thomas remembered both his trips from being 1/2 and talked about them literally weekly until we returned! I think you just need to adjust your pace and be flexible with littlies. The only slight issue we had was with queuing. At 17mth DS had about a 15min queue limit but DD could easily manage 30mins. They have always ate well but on 2 occasions this year DD wasn't happy in her highchair so sat on our knees. Apart from that she was literally perfect. Age 4 is brilliant though! Thomas loved everything so much and it was nice to be able to experience some bigger rides with him this time like Big Thunder Mountain and Star Tours. Its why we've decided to push WDW back a year so we'll all be able to ride more stuff together ❤️ |
