Can anyone recommend a restaurant/ pub in the Stansted area…. Will be driving from the North so anywhere south of Cambridge.

The Cricketers in Clavering is good. Used to be owned by Jamie Oliver’s parents, but think they might have sold it now.

Or for something more regular, The Plough in Great Chesterford.

Both options work if you’re heading south to Stansted as they’re on your way and closish to your destination.

Lion & Lamb, Little Canfield was nice when we went recently.

My daughter lives in Elsenham which is a few minutes from Stansted. Bishops Stortford is your best bet or Saffron Walden. There’s a Giggling Squid which we like but my daughter has eaten at Pircio too and keeps threatening to take us but that’s not happened yet! She said it was very nice.
