I've been passed Desert Rose many times, you could easily manage without a car stopping there, its not far from the strip at all. It looks very nice.
I also agree with Karen G about the Riveria , i'd not stop there.. we did visit it last year for a event and omg what a dump.. it seriously needs a complete renovation. Scotsman i think we've said this before but if we could pick up the Strat and move it up the strip i'd stop there.. the only thing that stops me is the location.. being there would mean using the car all the time and we don't want to do that. |

I've stayed at signature, cosmopolitan and Vdara , would happily stay at any of them again... just to be in Vegas would be good!

We have just booked Trump International, as we wanted a two bed suite and as we are taking the kids we thought a hotel without a casino would suit us best. It seems to have good reviews, and im quite excited as it has a 'turn down' service

Trump drew the short straw. It would have been at the top end of the North Strip, ahead of the game within all the new developments BUT it never happened now it feels out on a limb with a trek to even the Fashion Show Mall. There is some value to be had here (it always comes up on Hotwire) but the location lets it down IMHO. Good for the Peppermill though ;-)

We've stayed in almost all hotels on the strip, and with a couple of exceptions you will have fun wherever you are.
Avoid Circus Circus. Bellagio is overpriced for what it is. The Planet Hollywood Fountain rooms are better, Premier Paris rooms also if you want a view. Mirage is great for the Dolphins and Lions. MGM is nice for the pool and shows but it's a long walk from room to entertainment. The Luxor has cheap spa suite deals and a good steakhouse. The Palazo has great rooms, as does the Mandalay Bay suites but that's a long walk from the other hotels if you want variety. As others have said you will enjoy whatever you decide, have a good think about location, food, pools and prIce. |

A few pieces of information would narrow the field down quite a bit hopefully:
a) Who is going (ages etc) and for how long? b) What would be your likely low and top end budget? c) Will you have the use of a car and/or would you mind walking long)er) distances? d) What is important to you - room facilities, pool area, eateries, entertainment etc etc? A little info could really help those of us trying to give you suggestions for your best choices.

HUGE thanks for all the info and recommendations.
I have a lot of researching to do. I really enjoy all the planning, so looking forward to it. Keep you tips n recommendations coming in! Is it a good idea to book early or wait till nearer the holiday to get a good deal? Are prices likely to come down nearer the date of our stay? Denise |
