iPhone in water

Dropped my iPhone down the loo. Using pudding rice to dry it out. That's the same thing right?

Also it's on. And it's working fine but every now and again the volume sign will come on and stay on the screen. Also apps are running slow. It's an iPhone 6

I'm using my iPhone to write this thread! Will it be okay?

When did you drop it? I'd leave it in the rice for at least 48 hours to make sure all the moisture is evaporated before using it to avoid it shorting out.

Yeah I would turn it off and leave it for at least a day or two. Any remaining moisture in the phone can cause all kinds of headaches if you start using it. It sounds like you've got away fairly lightly considering it powers up and functions but I would leave it alone for a bit just to get rid of all that remaining moisture.

if it was totally immersed in the water - don't use it ! put it in a sealed bag with rice for at least 48 hours - don't try and charge it - just let it run down or turn it off now

Hi my daughter did exactly the same! She did as others have said and left it in a bag of rice while it dried out and it was fine.

My son dropped his iPhone 4 down the loo , I put it in rice and put it next to the dehumidifier , 2 days later it worked perfectly.

It's been in and out of rice now for a few hours and the volume button still keeps coming on on its own.

the camera looks ruined, all fuzzy.

I would definitely leave it in the rice for at least 48 hours. When my dd dropped hers down the toilet we put it in the airing cupboard , luckily for us after a couple of days it still worked

Turn it off! The more times you switch it on the more chance you have of causing permanent damage.

As everybody else says - 48 hours in the rice and with luck you might get it back.
