And the Brewers Dray, we lived nearby a pub, used to love Tetley's delivery day. The shire horses were enormous but were gentle enough to eat sugar lumps from us children. The Draymen used to open the basement and roll the barrels down the slide into the room.
Used to love seeing the Anheuser Busch drays, brought back many childhood memories

Anyone remember the knife sharpener man? You took your kitchen knifes to him and he sat at a portable knife sharpener wheel that was foot powered?

Or the Rag and Bone Man... Horse drawn flatbed wagon? You would hear him before you saw him... 'Ernie Ragbo' echoed down the street...

People would also gather the horse manure for their gardens\allotments too...
