Seaventure

We're booked to do dolphin swim at discovery cove on 22th Dec next year. We've been looking at the sea venture. My hubby really wants to do it. I think my 2 sons would enjoy it too. My soon to be 10yr old has cerebral palsy though. He walks but nit far. He is better in water however. Does anyone know of any restrictions with it.
Also, does it come on offer around blackfriday at all or am I as well just book g jow? It's currently $49 each for our date.

Can anyone recommend any thing else to do at dc?

I've done both the dolphin swim and seaventure, did them on the same visit, and think seaventure is much better. I don't know of any restrictions. Have you had a look at the DC website?

No not yet. My husband saw it and said it looks amazing. Is it difficult to walk under the water with the big helmet on?

It's fine as you hold onto a rail. The helmet doesn't feel heavy. I recommend taking a camera you can use under water, I got some lovely photos.

Can I ask, where have you been able to book discovery cove for next December? Everywhere I have looked shows as no availability.

Speak to DC, they're brilliant

I have mobility issues and I loved Seaventure. They had a hoist to get big and out as the ladder is spaced out. You have a rail to hold and I could hold onto my husband, and when we had sea life interaction I stood next to one of the assistants.

I was the last one in the water so I didn't hold the group up and DC arranged to have an extra person in the water just in case, they also took a lot of photo of us whilst we were down there.

If they are still doing it, I found the Shark Encounter great for mobility issues.

That's awesome. Thanks. I'll look into the shark encounter and I'll contact dc, 😁

We did Seaventure last year really enjoyed it. They give you a very long briefing before you start and make you sign an extensive waiver. When the headset thing is first lowered into your head, it feels quite heavy until you get in the water. You have to climb down a ladder to get into the water and once in, walking around is fine. There are hand rails to hold on to and the ground is soft sand. They gave us an undercover camera to use whilst down there and you communicate using hand signals. They also used a scribble board to communicate key messages.

I think the minimum age is 10 bu personally I felt that was a bit too young so didn’t let our DD do it when we went.

Keep your eye out for offers, it was £29 when we did it last year.
We had done it the time before so wasn't going to do it again, but couldn't turn it down for £29. We actually enjoyed it way more the second time
