I’ve had an induction hob for a few years now, and it’s ok. Definitely much easier to clean than the gas hob, but I don’t find it as good for things like boiling eggs- I still can’t get nice soft yolk and firm white! If you have several rings on, mine can’t keep all rings on power or top setting.

Even though we went for a top of the range induction, I still prefer cooking on gas. The gas hob never turned itself down when I was trying to sear meat and it thought I had the pan too hot 🙄

Also had to get rid of my lovely copper-bottomed Aga pans as they weren't compatible.

It is better than the 20 year old electric hob that was in the house when we moved in though...

I was really sad when I had to get rid of my egg pan, it was originally Dave's Grandmas and had a great coating of calcium. I always used the water for plants.
I've now bought an electric egg boiler (having rolled my eyes when my son and daughter both had them).

I changed from gas to induction about 6 years ago, wouldn't go back to gas by choice now, love my induction hob and find just as easy to cook on as a gas hob, you just turn it up or down to do whatever you want and it's so easy to keep clean

Check no visitors have pacemakers ?

If have keep 60cm away.

Have an AEG which is really good.
Links to hood and has a vibration sensor which turns down zone.

We have just had a new kitchen so bought a Hotpoint induction hob.
The good points are that it has multi zone with 8 zones on it and can have a large pan over 2 or 4 zones and they can be easily changed. It heats up really quickly and ours has a temperature slider so that the temperature can be easily adjusted and then it cools down really quickly. It also turns itself off if water boils over which is useful. Also to clean it. so far, it just needs a wipe over with a damp cloth, but that leads to the downside.
Even when the hob is off, it beeps and keeps beeping when there is even a drop of water on it. So if you wipe it with a too damp cloth it will keep beeping until you dry it with a towel. It drives me mad

try steaming rather than boiling. 6 minutes in a steam basket and then drop into ice water. thats how i did these posh scotch eggs...

I really like mine but had to buy new pans! Much much safer than gas and cooks at an even temperature. Mine has a boost feature so you can boil water quickly.

We have induction. Wish I had gas. I find it annoying. Mine can switch off easily especially if you have a few pans on the go.
