Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, I've done a bit of research today and I think it may be something to try, something to do on my dog walks. Hopefully I can get dh on board too.
I, like an awful lot of people have struggled with the current situation and I feel a bit changed, like I want to get outside in nature more, sounds a bit strange but working in the hospital (non clinical) all day I need to get out and breathe. |

I absolutely agree. Plus although we kind of go on our own or as a family we still feel part of a community. Locally you get to recognise the same names. We don't publicise our progress but it can make you realise your not alone out there. We also have a couple of bugs travelling. Not so much of late obviously, but still. Interesting to see where they have got to.

I just wanted to say thanks for the post. We used to Geocache years ago when kids were younger I still have the app but I had forgotten all about it. I’ve just managed to log back in (just about remembered our username) and so I’m going to plan some cache finding dog walks (just me , dog and maybe dh) I hope you enjoy it too OP

We did a lot of Geocaching last year as we holidayed in the U.K. and we paid for the premium membership for one of the main ones and downloaded the ap onto the phone. It gave us lots of walk options we'd not considered as well as hunting for Earth Geocaches which was great for the kids Geography homework.
Surprising number near where we live. We'd walked past dozens of times and never known they were there. I like puzzle caches as it stirs the grey matter first. You have to figure out clues to work out the coordinates. Best I found was in a fake book in a library. One of the staff members didn't even know it was there. Edited to say, don't forget your pen! Just me mentioning Geocaching on here 13 (thirteen) years ago: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...8&postcount=15
Note: this was before the launch of the first iPhone. To go geocaching back then you needed a dedicated handheld GPS device - the sort used for outdoor activities. It's great fun - gives walks a purpose, which can be very useful if you have little people who don't like going out for walks! |

We've been geocaching for years.
We love it and the good thing is it's something you can do during the pandemic.😊 |
