Yes, with bright, TSA-approved locks.

If I were a thief I would choose a case with locks on as there must be something worth stealing inside!

Have been locking the cases on Florida holidays for 27 years with either fitted case locks or TSA locks and have had them opened about 4 or 5 times. Never had any issues with the TSA locks being broken or the fitted locks on the cases being broken .

I've got TSA locks and had my case searched en route to New Orleans but they never left a note to say!

Prefer the TSA locks, was always paranoid about losing the keys with a normal padlock

We'll be using cable ties this year, after hearing of locks being broken. Plus, if somebody wants to get in they will do, regardless of whether or not it's locked. I was a little surprised just how easy it is to open a case using a pen/pencil!

We lock ours with TSA locks for 2 reasons

...wouldn't want the risk of our cases coming undone during transit and our unmentionables being on display for all the world to see, just call me old fashioned
... If things were stolen we could say in truth to the insurance company that we took due care and precaution by locking our cases.

In the last 16 years we have been to the US 24 times and often have had at least one bag searched/checked on the way back with no problems, just found the note inside when we unpack.

Never lock the cases, never had a problem. Nothing to steal in there except clothes and toiletries. Anything valuable stays with me.

Every trip (6 monthly at the moment) we have between 1 and 4 cases opened and checked All our cases have built in TSA locks and we only ever buy suitcases that have them (Samsonite or Hideo Wakamatsu) - we leave the combination locks open but lock the TSA parts and have no issues. Piece of mind for us with insurance if anything should happen to the cases
