We booked, similar timeframe to you to fly out, we took the plunge yesterday, just in case.

BA flights have gone from £440 each to £750+ each in the last hour. Norweigan still sitting around £500 each, and can cancel within 4 hours.

Will an announcement almost definitely come at 2am/3am? (I'd have to cancel before 3:30am if I book in next 10mins)

I think you have to ask yourself what would be more gutting, losing £1500 or losing your holiday?
As it stands £1500 is the maximum you will lose by booking them now but your holiday is still secure, go back in the morning and you could be paying a lot more or flights could have sold out, then what would you do?
I feel so sorry for everyone facing all this hassle with their holidays and feel even more sorry for all the staff that no longer have a job, another company bites the dust, so very sad .

I’d be inclined to book them. As much as I want to stay positive, it’s much more likely than not that we’re going to get bad news in the morning and there will be lots of people also due to travel who will be sourcing alternative flights and there’s only one way that prices will go with increased demand.

Don’t some airlines offer the 24 hour cancellation and money back? Can you not do that?

Shocking price increase already.. what about indirect flight prices.. or flying from a different airport?

TC flights still operating at present, first of the 2 flights mco to man taken off according to mco airport , a relief to those on board.

I think it’ll also depend on when you are due to fly, ours is a way off so have a bit of time, and a regular deposit only hotel booked direct so can move dates - if it’s days/weeks off, I’d probably be tempted too to take the risk before any official announcement, even from an alternate UK airport if was losing money on rest of a DIY holiday
