Yeah I’m staying on-site it was an answer machine message on the room phone last night.
Looks as if it was a load of rubbish though as they’re still not running.

I'm not sure what you are expecting?

Disney have said that the Skyliner will be closed until further notice whilst they investigate what went wrong. I suspect Disney themselves don't know how long the investigation will take at this stage and therefore how long it will remain closed. There's very little more information Disney can give. Once they have more information I'm sure they'll let people know.

I may be way off the mark but it wouldn't surprise me if it is shut for the rest of this month. That being said safety must always come first and if it takes 3 months then so be it.
Better to be sure than have another accident that may involve injuries next time.

It might depend if OSHA gets involved too if working conditions are deemed unsafe.

Reedy Creek fire department in full swing there. Should imagine they have been practicing for this for a while but didn't want to have to put it into action.

As a fire department they must have one of the most varied training requirements in the US I would imagine.

Not expecting them to go into any detail just an answer machine message to say it won’t be running! They’ve given an update this afternoon to say they are investigating. I’m sure it will take a while to reopen but as others have said safety first! Could have been a lot worse than it was.

Not sure if it was mentioned before but it appears that someone with a medical history in one cabins phoned 911 delayed the restart of the gondolas by several hours... The maintenance crews couldn't restart the system as Reedy Creek crews where on the path of the gondolas and they had trouble finding the correct gondola to evacuate as the gondolas numbers are not on the underside..
It appears the system could have been restarted or at least moved to be evacuated at the stations a lot earlier than it did.
Rumours are that a belt broke causing one cabin not to move onto the despatch line in the station.

Take that with a pinch of salt as they are having a bit of a dispute about manning and pay...the usual labour relations stuff and not specific to the gondolas.
