I wouldn't pay that. We're going 25 August to 10th September (16 nights) and paid £2226 for a fly drive with a full size SUV for 4 adults so £556.50 pp. We work this out at flights £461.75 pp and the hire car cost £419. Looking at your price our flights were £160 cheaper than what you're getting. The catch - it's via Gatwick. Done this several times before and for the savings it's totally worth it.
Having said that I know you're wanting direct flights so if it's worth it to you go for it.

For VA direct with luggage & seats, I'd pay that. Having said that I'm always happy to pay more to ensure we fly direct - depends on whether you'd compromise on that factor and how much the benefit of direct is 'worth' to you.

I think that’s a good price. You have to be realistic now about direct prices from Glasgow and it’s all very well for people to say they wouldn’t pay it but if you want direct you’re pretty restricted now. You can definitely get cheaper with BA via Gatwick but it’s whether you’re happy to do that.

We always fly direct, Glasgow to Mco, booked flights for May 2020 with virgin, managed to get economy classic for 2 adults for £1089, got exit seats both ways foc from virgin as they has made a muck up with my initial booking. I'll be looking for flights for the end of August 2020 when we go for three weeks and I'd be more than happy with the price you've paid.

thanks for all your comments, decided to take the plunge and book so I can avoid the flight roulette game, looking every day...I live in England, my daughter in Glasgow, hence the Glasgow departure for ease to travel together. These 2 weeks are still school summer holidays in England and our local airport are asking 1000 plus pp with bags and seats- we decided this was a fairly good deal. Before the TC collapse these dates were 570 plus seat selection so not too far away form the price I paid, went up to 670 just before the collapse so I think the price is comparable. No way any of us fancied indirect so virgin were the only option left- anyway, its done now so no going back... Florida here we come again
