Yep, the A330 has always scheduled over the winter.

I used the text service with Virgin Atlantic - messaged last week and reply today.

Basically just confirms what we have read in the media - 747s retired and flying from LHR and MAN. Seasonal routes (Glasgow & Belfast) are being worked through with customers contacted soon.

No real news.

Just recieved the following from Virgin Atlantic.
To ensure we are fit for the future we need to streamline our operations. When we look to resume our flight programme post Covid-19, we will fly only twin-engine aircraft from London Heathrow and Manchester, although we may return to London Gatwick for summer flying in line with customer demand. We are still working through the details of seasonal flying out of Belfast and Glasgow and we'll share details as soon as we can.
So nothing new except they are still deciding what to do regards Glasgow and Belfast

Finally have our cancellation notice for the end of the month from Virgin, now we need to wait for them responding to that...another long wait beckons, with the cloud of administration and uncertainty hanging over im not holding my breath

seen this on the BBC website today:

Virgin Atlantic also released its summer schedule on Tuesday, promising more flights to Tel Aviv as well as routes linking Florida with Manchester, Glasgow, London Heathrow and Belfast after it pulled out of Gatwick

so sounding more promising for GLA?

Prior to lockdown, each route will have been carefully analysed for demographics, profitablility, how they slot into the existing flying program, staffing, aircraft availability etc. etc. Basically a flying program will have been put together over the course of weeks or months using all sorts of reports and charts. It's not surprising that they are still guessing at what will and won't work for them when nobody knows what the environment they will be operating in will look like.

It does look more promising for GLA, but only because they are still in the conversation. It basically depends on how busy those flights were, and more importantly if they will stay busy enough to turn a profit. We were on a full flight from GLA in 2014...but that's the limit of my experience.
