Wanye. Good post.

We started taking them maybe 3 years ago +/- after I read a medical article on the BBC News.

Been taking them every day since then. Plus at the beginning of the year we also started taking Vitamin C tablets.

Can't hurt and may be a life saver. For a few quid well worth it.

Vitamin D from Amazon. Vitamin C from Asda

it depends what dose you get. i started on 800iu daily and levels rose very slowly. i then switched to 10000iu every 3-4 days and things improved quickly. now my levels are good, i'm on 5000ui that i take every couple of days

Just a warning. My Daughter is on a monstrous size dose as she is Vitamin D deficient. I think it's 10000 but it may be 20000

However that is a GP prescribed amount not just a stab in the dark off the shelf purchase.

yeah, i was on 10k twice a week for 6 months or so, for the first week i was on 10k a day. once my levels returned to normal, i went back down to 5k every 2-3 days

from what i've read, 6k a day is the suggested maximum limit for most people, so if you get very high strength ones, dont do them daily unless its due to doctors advice

I bought vitamin D tablets that also contain vitamin K, I may be wrong but I thought that the vitamin K helps to control where the vitamin D goes in our bodies.

For those with teenagers who are not very good at taking tablets (my son), you can buy chewable kiddie vitamin D from Amazon, during the winter teenagers can also get pretty deficient.
