Christmas flights

Planning on booking for Christmas 2020, will do the flights seperately, how much should I be paying ? Don't mind when I travel but will have to be after 22nd December when kids finish uni. Also, when should I be looking to buy to get the best price ?

For this coming Christmas and new year 20th Dec 19 to 4th Jan 20 we paid �603 indirect via Houston - united flight booked via Travelbag in April. Login in to United website, entered my reference number and booked seats FOC all within 1 day of booking.

We are going 10 nights 23rd Dec to 2nd Jan. flights and large SUV for four people was �2600 with BA. Glasgow to Orlando via Gatwick. We booked this in April.

BA had some great deals in their January sale this year and we booked direct flights to Miami from LHR 24th Dec-5th Jan 2020, 2 adults & 1 teen for �1496 which includes a car and luggage.

Booked 15th Jan, if i had of held my nerve we could have come back just after New Year for not much more !
I would keep an eye on BA when the flights are released

I would be careful where your connection is if you fly indirect in winter, avoid airports like Chicago, Boston New York where weather could affect your flight.

Houston should be OK but I hate flying in the wrong direction to come back!
