We generally use either the City North Hotel, The Clayton or the Hilton.
The CNH isn't much good for those connecting but is great for those travelling from Belfast. The Hilton and Clayton are a few minutes away on a shuttle bus. Of the two, I prefer the Hilton if you can get it a good price. There are numerous others that we haven't used. |

We are flying Birmingham - Dublin - MCO. We have chose to fly out the day before and are staying in the Premier Inn (cheapest) the night before. Going to spend the afternoon in Dublin as it is our anniversary. We have the choice of a 2 hour or 6 hour lay over and thought 2 hour was too much stress (I did speak to Aer Lingus and they were happy with this) but chose to make it a mini. mini, break in Dublin first. Booked these flights separately with Aer Lingus.
Travelling Business Class both ways - so excited and significantly cheaper that flying from London. |

Sorry for jumping on this thread, we have booked flights with Air Lingus in January, our stop over is 2hours 5 mins, is this long enough to get something to eat? Also do you get drinks on the flight free or do you have to pay?

We have flown Aer Lingus twice from Dublin because Manchester VA flights were ridiculous.
We do fly in the night before but it massively adds to the cost because of the luggage! But we just swallow the cost. We stay at Premier Inn Dublin Airport. Pre-clearance is fantastic and we use 51st and Green to sit comfortably and fill our boots with food. We flew back business class which was incredible, lie flat bed was bliss.

Just come back today after going with Aer Lingus via Dublin (albeit to NYC).
We had 1:35 layover at Dublin. However, the time flight at 1:05 from MNC to DUB and more like 45 mins. Anyhow we left about 10-15 mins late but arrived just before time. Waiting for the bus took a little time... we were into the security check and through US customs in about 30 mins. Although arrived at the gate about 25-30 mins before departure time so it was on final call. Therefore I would suggest something longer than this is of course better! Can’t comment on business class but not sure I would be going economy again anytime soon. Thought the service / staff were not very good. Entertainment was though... great choice. Food was standard although didn’t eat anything on way back. Not sure we would do anything other than Virgin direct from MAN-MCO. However prices are going very high. We had a 2 hour layover in Dublin in way back. Was ok and had a nice coffee at the chocolate place in T2. |

This year I had booked this from Bristol with a 2.5 hour wait between flights. A month layer Aer Lingus changed my first flight so I had only 1.5 hours. They told me 45 minutes is plenty and actually it was.

Thanks all for the advice! Still monitoring prices as hopefully VA will dip if more flights confirmed(rumour they are buying the TC slots at MCO).
Also a TUI rep mentioned they may start adding flights to MCO, not sure I believe this but MCO is now in the app just not selectable... interesting |

Hi
I would say you won’t have time to eat, certainly before pre-clearance and depending on how long it takes to go through pre-clearance a snack at most. Only soft drinks are free in economy. If you upgrade your meal, highly recommended, you get one small bottle of wine with your meal. Alex |
