Yep, it’s a business and making money is the way they stay around, however much it grates on our nerves that every little opportunity to extract more cash is taken.

Thanks guys. Yeah its a shame it has changed but im guessing most ppl buy economy classic anyway as it includes hold baggage aswell.

They are dammed if they do dammed if they dine people complain about paying for seat reservations and complain about higher prices. Virgin I think have done great giving the option to buy a ticket that does not include luggage or seat reservation at a lower price so people for whom this is not important to have the choice not to pay for it. The problem I think you have though with Virgin is most people would book classic meaning that most seats will be booked long before checkin leaving a much smaller choice at 24 hours.

I thought though with EL you could still pay to book a seat.
