Booking for 10 - Aug 2021
We are looking to book a Florida visit in the last 2 weeks of 2021. There are going to be 10 of us travelling, 8 adults and 2 kids. 2 adults and the kids will likely be travelling from a London airport, with the remaining 6 adults probably travelling from Manchester.
We are planning to cover all the disney parks and the universal parks, with the hardcore amongst us also taking in Busch and Seaworld. We have a number of different questions that I am looking to the DIBBers out there to help with, forgive me if this turns into a bit of a brain dump Given that there are 10 of us would we be considered a group booking? Would this still be the case if travelling from separate airports? We are currently debating between a week onsite at Disney followed by a week in a villa OR 2 weeks in a villa. Does anyone have experience of the split option? Is this something that is easily bookable with virgin? - one of us works for a virgin company so there is a potential for a little discount (although we have no idea how much as they keep that to themselves! ) What things do we need to consider when debating the options? Currently I have: Food - 1 week onsite might well give dining plan access Parking - daily parking seems to be expensive, although it appears that some of the hotels also charge for parking? Car hire/transport - if staying onsite then I don't envisage us getting car hire for the first week. However I think we would probably be looking at 3 cars for the second week (or the full 2 weeks if villa only). Benefits of being onsite - EMH, FP+ window There is also a possibility of delaying a week and coming back in the first weekend of September - how much is this likely to save us? And are the parks dramatically quieter? There are no doubt going to be a load of questions following this, but that will do for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this |

If onsite at Disney you’re looking at multiple rooms or one of the DVC resorts to get everyone in - not cheap but may be offset by the savings on parking. Old Key West would give you the most space I think. A villa is the most practical option but you would need at least five bedrooms with those numbers (assuming 4 couples each have a room, and the 2 kids to share). The villa will give you maximum flexibility and space. With a villa, You would need at least 2 cars I think, but if you make one of them a minibus then you can perhaps keep parking costs to a minimum, but bear in mind that you might find Using Uber/Lyft for some journeys cheaper than paying for an additional vehicle and all the parking. Also consider upgrading one park ticket to Annual Pass for the free parking.
