If you put them in the fridge, like they do in the USA, they last a lot longer and can often go way past their best before date (but make your own decisions!).

Source: The owner of one of the largest egg producers in the world, who I did some work for.

Dont put them in the door though as the temp changes cause them to go off quicker- at the back in the eggbox.

I know you can check with the float test but I never do. If they are in date I use them.

Just in their box in the cupboard. They aren't stored in a fridge in the supply chain.

In a plastic egg box which holds 15 with a lid from Home Bargains in the fridge
I take most food out of its original packing before it goes in the fridge

My mum had a plastic egg box back in the 60s, wonder if it's the same sort of thing?

No hers had the lid the same as the base so you could store twice as many if you see what I mean. Thanks for taking the trouble to post picture.
