Plastic pipes under kitchen sink...any plumbing experts?
So as if I’m not annoyed enough with the C word, my work having the worst IT in history and not being able to find Giant Wotsits, I have now have water in all my nice under sink containers
I have plastic pipes, they’re not very old and the fault is where the large plastic nuts screw on the pipe bit and stops the pipe from dropping down. I’ve hand tightened the nuts but I can just tug on the pipe and it slips out I’m assuming I need new washers, I have 2 connectors that are both doing this, but I have no idea what washers to get or how to put them in. Does anyone know an easy to follow website or video I can look at please? I’ve been googling for a while but am none the wiser and I’m not getting a plumber in just for a couple of washers. Thanks everyone 😊

Have you tried looking on YouTube?
Or take washer to B & Q and ask for new washers? Are they seated correctly? |

Looks to me like standard Italian push fit/screw fit (one each end) fittings.
A lot of sinks are made in Italy and their products are good. Their waste pipes not so great. I would be looking to get the whole lot stripped down and dried out. Then you can use Marley's 'pipe weld' glue for the 2 x ends that are push fit. That will hold them for ever, but you can never take them apart again! We know what drags these pipes down and it's the weight of the dishwasher and/or washing machine pipes that opens up the push fit joints The easy solution is to clip the appliance pipes to the cupboard carcass so they aren't relying on the waste pipe to hold them up. The final option is to replumb the whole lot in Marley's products as they have better compression joints.
