Ddp or Deluxe Ddp
We are thinking about when to reschedule our May trip to and would ideally like the same time May 2021. Have decided to hold off to see if any type of free dining is offered as this year we had free dining which we upgraded to the deluxe plan (2 adults, 3 kids). Since we have done this a lot of people have said it is way too much food and we should try and go for the regular plans. What are your thoughts on this? Many thanks x

Have you done a dining plan before? we have DDP last time on free dining and we eat a lot and it was ample. I wouldn't go for DxDP for the usual reasons: too much food, too much time taken up with mealtimes, too much to be spent tipping.

I don’t think there’s any need for DxDDP. DDP is plenty of food and allows you to enjoy character meals if that’s what you want. Usually the people who choose DxDDP have been a few times and like to eat at the signature restaurants.

Up until our last trip over Xmas/new year last year we’ve always had the regular DDP for the 4 of us and it’s worked just fine. This has worked since the boys were kids and are now 21 and 23.
The only time we’ve had DxP was on our last trip when our eldest son bought his girlfriend with. We therefore had 2 room and we had the regular DDP on the room with 3 of us in and the DxP on the room with 2 in. Doing this enabled us to eat in many signature restaurants as the DxP credits can be used fir any type of dining.

We did the same as you when we first went Clarky, we booked the DxDP and it was more than we could eat. Have done DDP since and this suited us much better and felt it was enough food without waste. Great if you can get on free dining.

We’ve done both and I’d probably go DDP in future.
It just gets a little annoying needing to be somewhere when you’re in a park having fun. I’m not sure we thought it was necessarily too much food as we mainly ate in a signature each night and had breakfast or an early lunch. We didn’t really use many snack credits on anything other than water tbh which was a shame. I think there should be something in between the 2 plans. We don’t particularly bother with desserts but like appetisers which we found annoying with normal DDP. Of course you can just buy them but on that occasion we had quite a large bill on checkout!

We enjoyed the starters but don’t forget you will have a bigger bill on a 3 course meal so your tips will increase .
