Dashcam

Is there such a thing as a dash cam that can be moved between vehicles easily. I’d like to get one that can be used in our car but moved to our Motorhome when we use it... any ideas or suggestions please.

I’d just get another one, they’re not that expensive tbh.

I have a Nextbase dashcam - it’s powered from the cigarette lighter socket, so easy to transfer between vehicles. It’s tucking the cable away that takes the time.

Just get one that uses a sicker mount and is powered by a cigarette lighter.

Loads like that, so won't be hard to find one.

Circa every 18 months or so I change my car and the Auto Electrician removes the old camera and a week later reinstalls it in the new car..
Now you could have both cars wired and the camera comes with a fixing plate but you can buy spares. Thus you could put mounting plates in both cars and move the camera which just plugs in between them

However for £60 I would buy another camera and have them both hard wired. So neat.

Sod's law the day you forget to move it is the day you will wish you had

I have an auto vox x1. It clips onto the rear view mirror and basically replaces the mirror. Camera picture is across the whole mirror.
I have it hard wired but you could easily buy another power adapter. Just unplugs at the top.

After a near miss this afternoon, I think I’m going to get one for my car. I dropped middle DD at dance (mid-afternoon), not dark but the road I have to pull out onto has lots of overhanging trees which restricts the light. The exit from the dance location is admittedly near to a blind bend, so I’m always extra careful when pulling out. Obviously you have to pull out at some point. Having sensed a gap in the traffic, I pulled onto the main road. A elderly man was speeding around the bend, no lights on. I didn’t have to brake sharply as I was barely moving, but obviously he did. Cue him waving his fist at me, mouthing angrily at me. Luckily no collision, but got me thinking about a dashcam.
