Exercise will help. Go for a walk in an area where you know that you will be safe during daylight hours

Have you tried Acetaminophen PM? It makes sure I have a good nights sleep. Or something herbal if you don’t like taking OTC drugs? You may only need it for a couple of nights to kick start a better sleep routine.
I feel for you, it’s miserable when you get no sleep |

As 7Seas says, exercise will help. It also sounds like your brain in racing - try an app like Headspace to help you breath, slow your mind and relax.
Finally, if all else fails, I buy Walsleep from Walgreens. Follow the instructions, avoid alcohol and don't have anything planned for too early the next day in case you feel a bit thick headed. |

I understand I have had a similar job and my sleep pattern is shot as well. I have in the past taken over the counter sleep aids but in the past few years i have simply come to accept poor sleeping.
I now stay in bed even if I'm wide awake, I believe resting awake in a dark room helps. I have developed ways of directing my thought patterns and think of simple things like walking along a path I know well or round a house I know well. It's a type of meditating. I find this helps my brain to relax even if I dont sleep. I hope you get a relaxing night even if you cant sleep. |

It's such a vicious circle, isn't it? And the more you think about it, the worse it will be. And understandable that it's worse since your sons accident xx
I know you're away, but we use the Bachs Rescue Remedy (sleep version) for my son. I've been a fan of Rescue Remedy for years, and the sleep one has an extra ingredient. Anyways. Is there anything similar you could get OTC in florida? A herbal remedy of some sort? Or even Melatonin for a few days just to get you back on track? Hope you find something that helps x |

Your body clock is shot. Also, the stress you’ve been under lately can really disrupt your nights as your subconscious races to process things.
I had a similar problem last year. I found that getting up and going outside with a little bit of exercise in the fresh air is the best way to reset things. In Florida this is a vastly more pleasant thing to do than trudging round in the cold and rain in the UK! Best wishes Gary

Melatonin is my travel buddy - although doesn’t work for everybody it does for me and surely worth a try ?
Buy over the counter at a pharmacy such as CVS and I know Ralph’s stock it too |

Since early 2011 my average amount of sleep is 3 to 4 hours a night because of constant pain. I take painkillers and anti-inflammatories but there are only so many I can take. So I just have to get on with it, not easy though.

I’ve always been a rubbish sleeper, normally between 2 to 4 hours a night sometimes less than 1!
I find this helps a little walmart/ip/Equate-Al...l-oz/512108714 and my husband takes the pill form which knock him out walmart/ip/Equate-Ni...ount/185176525 I used to get up and bake bread when I couldn’t sleep!
