You will have to exchange rhe old paper tickets to new plastic ones which is why you cannot add them via MDE. I think also the new tickets will have the non-expiry option removed once transferred. You cannot use the old paper tickets for entry hence why need to exchange them.

Just a thought do you have magic bands, We have got old expiry tickets still on the old paper style and mine is on mde, never had to change ours over. I do know I had to email the tickets over to them to sort out.

Well done, if you don't mind could you give me some pointers? Did it take so long because on hold or did they have trouble understanding what you wanted to do? Any hints as to how to get this done would be much appreciated as I was told you had to exchange in person.
Oh, and do they still show as non expiry on MDE?

We had non-expiry paper tickets which had park hopper days on them and some water parks. Ours however did show up in MDE so we could book fastpasses in advance. We took them to Guest Services in Disney Springs (August 2016) where they promptly exchanged them for RFID modern tickets. We used our park days but the water parks still remain UNEXPIRED for all time (if we wish!). It took about 15 minutes for them to be exchanged.

See the link below for some Disney freephone numbers. I am not sure if these are only freephone from landlines though, or whether you can use them on mobile plans.

disneyworld.disney.go/help/phone/

I think the 0800 16 90 749 is for technical support.

There is another freephone number that I can't see on the list 0800 028 0778. You can phone this and they mostly put you through to who you need to speak to.

Thanks so much for confirming, I'll give them a call (when I've got a few hours spare just in case ).
Not that I'm going back anytime soon

Plus this one for the Disney UK site, that I don't think is on the list. 0800 028 0778

I would try the technical support number first 0800 16 90 749 to see if they can help.
An update, managed to link our tickets so far, could match up with the person but then we got the dreaded Stitch page, so rang the Uk number at 12.00pm first person said to clear the cookies, did this but did not work.
Rang back got a different person called Sarah, she added the tickets and told me what days were left.
I was told that they were still non expiry tickets.
So we are now good to go.
Just need to exchange the tickets when there.
