I bought the £35 one but we spend 4 weeks at a time out there. And use it for calls too

Similarly... just back from 2 weeks in Florida with 12GB, using google maps a lot (although i did preload/cache Orlando maps) but it will have downloaded traffic info. Also used Facebook, BBC News etc and lent phone to son for you-tubing in last few days... still had 9GB left.

My son on the other hand used up his full 4GB in 10 days, but that's kids. All youtube, instagram etc.

In short 12GB is loads for all reasonable scenarios.

As others have said, 5GB is more than sufficient for 2 weeks - remember that you can download offline maps on Google Maps (I think other maps offer similar too) if you know the areas you will be travelling to/from ahead of time.

Yeah last time we went (on our once in a lifetime holiday! ) we used an offline map app but I just thought we’d get the sims for extra data this time for the kids now they’re older...

You dont actually need to use any data for Google maps if you download the p areas that you need first, we have had varying success with Three both on PAYG and contract it varies from OKish to throwing the phone away but as long as you download the maps it will only use data for maps but you need to update the maps at least 28 days before you return or google wont use them
