Yes. Very long. And yes. That is why it is hard to get a fast pass. Offsite guests have a slim chance of a FP and are best to think about rope drop one morning.

If you can walk quickly with 'the hordes' at rope drop you should be on FOP within 30 mins of joining the line if things are all running well.

If they lose a section of the ride that slows things down.

If you’re there about 30-45 minutes before opening and wait with the crowd (every person will pretty much be going to FOP) you should be on and off within 30 minutes of them letting you into the park. You’ll then have the rest of the day to enjoy the park rather than stood in a queue!

They let you through in stages by dropping a couple of ropes and people do run and try and cut through but they’re quite good at stopping it. You just need to walk fast and stay together. 😊

We booked a night onsite last year when our AK day changed to have EMH, so we were technically onsite, but our plan would work the same on a non-EMH day for offsite guests.

Keep trying u may get lucky but I’d just plan turning Upto animal kingdom early - at least 60minutes before rope drop and you will get on, we turned up 90 minutes before rope drop and there was only about 20 ppl infront of us, at rope drop time we walked very fast to the bridge into pandora where they stopped everyone again and we waited for couple minutes before the cast members led everyone in to Pandora, keep left for flight of passage and right for navi river, we got straight on the ride be8ng in the first group for the day

I've also seen suggestions for getting into line right before the park closes one night - yes you will still have a long ish queue but at this time there are no fast passes so the ride will be filled from the standby queue so it goes much quicker, and since the park is shut there is literally nothing else you could be doing

It's a tough one as this is THE premium fast pass. Firstly keep checking as much as you can, keep changing times (try up to 20 times) to see if it appears, do this every time you are checking. Do this even when you are there, you never know!

Secondly either do rope drop or close. I would prefer close as the above poster pointed out it can be better and if you are at 40 mins before rope drop you are still waiting in a boring line for 40 mins before you even start and need a coffee more than you would in an evening, also Pandora is gorgeous at night!

Another vote for joining the queue a few mins before park close. It's cooler queuing at night that in the morning and you will be standing for less time than if you went in the morning (the morning queues might be shorter but you'll have to be queueing outside the park way before rope drop). The evening queue will be much shorter than the published wait time.

Thanks, so if we queued at closing time, what time do you suggest getting in line?

If you start queuing 5 minutes before closing will they still let you on the ride when the park closes?
