Pacific Highway 1. Reopening date pencilled in!

It looks like the final section of the Pacific Highway 1 is due to re-open on 20 July!

I believe the original schedule was a re-open in September. That was recently moved to end of July. This is the first I've heard of an actual date.

Great news, we drive up the PCH from LA to Santa Cruz early August, really looking forward to the journey and the fantastic views

I wanted to do the PCH, but had a whole different route planned out due to its closure. I was over moon when I read that it's opening up on 20th July and have now reverted back to my original highway route. Yes, it will be longer, but I'm so looking forward to it!

MONTEREY COUNTY � State Route 1 at Mud Creek re-opened at 9:45 this morning after a 14 month closure due to a massive landslide followed by an emergency repair project. You can now drive the whole 90 miles of coastline between Carmel and San Simeon.

A ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening will take place at the Ragged Point Inn on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 A.M.
