stupid but worrying me question- American Airlines
I tried a search on this as feel daft asking
We booked St Louis - LAX months ago using American Airlines, a thread on here (by me! ) said we'd spoken to AA and got told to book Main cabin then turn up and pay baggage as we'll have 4 cases for 4 passengers. Just going through paperwork etc and came across this on their site as we couldn't remember if we got checked luggage or not and can't remember what we arranged months back with all the extra planning. AA site: Currently, you can expect to pay around $25 for your first bag, $35 for the second, $150 for the third and $200 for the fourth. If bags go over the size or weight limit, which is a total of 62 inches and 50 pounds respectively (First and Business Class are allowed 70 pounds), you can expect to pay upwards of $100 for each offending bag. I've read this as if passenger A wants to take 2 cases it'll cost them $25 for the 1st and $35 for the 2nd = $60 in total, if passenger B only has one case its $25. Or: Does it mean 4 passengers with 4 cases = $200 "for the fourth" bag as it says above? I hope i'm reading it wrong and it's basically $25 per suitcase per passenger as this would make sense but I'm flapping now. If someone could reassure me or prepare me for a $200 charge rather than $100 at the desk I can at least prepare myself haha Thanks |

The bags are per passenger/paid ticket so you are correct with you first costings.
