Changing BA Booking
Hi, we are waiting to book a BA flydrive in the next few weeks if we can get a decent price. I do have one issue though.
Our son works away from home and won’t know for definite if he will get the time off to come on holiday until beginning of next year. If fly drive prices aren’t right I’m in no hurry to book. I am wondering though what sort of charges would be involved if I had to cancel his part of the booking? Can anyone give me an idea? I did call BA however they couldn’t help unless I actually had a booking made! I have looked online but didn’t find it very clear. I will be paying a deposit for a party of 5. Is it perhaps just £25 to remove him? |

Thanks for that. Maybe just me but found the site confusing. Don’t won’t to be paying more than the overall deposit!

I booked through BA a couple weeks ago. The main point to understand is that if you buy a stand alone flight, it is just that, and needs payment in full. If you add a car or a hotel, then it counts as a holiday package and means you have much more flexibility. You can pay a small deposit and settle the outstanding closer to the date.
You are far more restricted with flight only though adding a car means you gain all the package holiday flexibility even though you're not doing a hotel through them. I settled on 1a2c as a fly drive, and 1a flight only with a split economy out / prem economy home to benefit from the additional luggage allowance for all the shopping! |

We tried to change our booking - they wanted nearly £300 for us to change - all we wanted to do is to add on a couple of days!

We are in a similar situation, does anyone know if the cost of the flight/taxes for the cancelled person are removed.
Thanks, Marie |

I phoned to ask about moving our upcoming holiday (flight, hotel and car) forward by a day. The admin fee was £150 per person plus the extra costs, there are 4 of us travelling so £600+ was too much.
I have changed a booking for the cost of the hotel only when BA changed our flight times. We were flying on the Saturday and had tickets to a big event on the evening. The new flight times would have got us in after the event started do after a bit of “I need to ask my manager” we changed to flights the day before with no admin fee, just the price of an extra night in the hotel. This was only possible as THEY changed the flights. |
