Virgin From Belfast
Hi all - just wondering if anyone has flown Virgin from Belfast to MCO...? We are leaning that way and curious what the experience was like?

We flew with Virgin direct from Belfast in July 2015 and have booked again next year for the same time. We've also flown twice with Thomson, once from Gatwick and last year from Birmingham. I didn't notice much difference between the airlines, we got fed, had drinks, sat for 8 hours in a metal tube - just a means to an end really. The biggest benefit in flying from Belfast was the speed in getting home, nothing like leaving the airport and knowing you'll be home in 30 minutes although Donegal will take a little longer! When we flew from Gatwick, we had a 4 hour wait before the flight home. From Birmingham, it was around 7 hours and we booked a room at the airport hotel to have a sleep for a few hours before going back to catch the flight home. Flying from Belfast is worth the extra money!

We flew on 07th May this year (extremely cheap flights) and go again next Monday !
Nothing untoward but equally nothing spectular - the quicker journey between home and airport is the main benefit especially after the flight home. Considering that we save about 1hr driving each way compared to travelling via Dublin, but with no pre-clearance, the time difference is quickly negated if there are any delays with immigration in MCO. I set a price difference of £100 per person - if Belfast is £100 or more cheaper then we go from there, if not then Dublin wins even with a connecting flight. |

We are going in August from Belfast with Virgin. We had anticipated doing indirect from Dublin due to the cost but the virgin flights came up at under £500 each so we booked this.
Only downside is no immigration at the start like From Dublin but the cost saving on a direct flight was really good |

We booked the first week in November. The price had dropped for many of the flights in August. We were limited to 2 weeks though as the flight is only on a Monday. If we had gone from Dublin I might have squeezed 15 or 16 nights. The price from Belfast was too tempting 😀

florida_2012, that's such a good price. We've just booked with travel city direct for next July and the flights are working out to be a lot more than £500. We would have preferred end of August but the difference in price was shocking. Perhaps I should be patient and leave it a while...

We booked direct with virgin, flights only. We are flying back on 3rd Sept which is the last flight of the season (I think) back into Belfast. Missing the first two days of school. Edging into September probably helped lower the price but some of the other August flights were definitely reduced from their release price
