Question When to Book...

Hi Folks,

Just found this forum and hoping you lovely folks can help me out...

I am looking to book a trip to WDW in October next year for 2 weeks (1 week being half term) How far in advance would you recommend to book?

I went to Virgin Holidays and they quoted my £7,500 for Animal Kingdom, Car, Universal Tickets, WDW Tickets and Disney Dining Plan. This seemed a little steep to me, is it worth waiting for Virgin Atlantic to release flights in November and then looking again comparing booking flights separate, or should i book now? Please help!

Regards

Welcome to the Dibb 🤗

At the moment you'll qualify for free dining so staying at AKL you'll get DDP.

And maybe free gift card.

Can't help with your price but I'm sure someone will be along soon.

Hi and welcome

How many is that for? It does seem pricey to me. You can get flights from £300-£700 direct. I personally would get quotes from other agents and pit them against each other to bring the price down. If your wanting to do a package, look at getting the fights included too x

How many people is the quote for? Hard to tell if it's a decent price without knowing that.

£300 direct over October half term? Please tell me where to find them as I'll be looking for next year too!

Its for 3 of us. I think waiting for the flights to become available sounds sensible, thanks so much for your help

I found some over half term last year but they were only a few weeks before. At the moment you can get indirect for about £300 x

Ah, so not the norm then? I would expect to pay £600+ for direct flights over October half term, with the £600 being a good find. I certainly couldn't cope with waiting until just a few weeks before my holiday to book though - I'd feel sick

If you wait for flights, then you'll miss the free dining offer. You could always book the free dining offer on its own, then flights separately once they become available.

What dates exactly are you looking at? We can then look more closely at the price you've been quoted to tell you whether it's good or not.

If you wait until November then you'll miss out on the free dining plan. Or, to put it another way, you'll have to pay extra for the Disney Dining Plan if you want it. That may cancel out any savings you might make by waiting.

For 3 people, the Universal and Disney tickets will cost you at least £1900. So it means you are paying around £5500 for your stay at AKL, the direct flights, and the car. As it's half term, I wouldn't be surprised if the flights were at least £700 each (last time we flew with TC the flights were £800 each and Virgin were more expensive). So that means £3500 to stay at AKL for 2 weeks - which doesn't seem unusual? (In fact, looking at Disney's UK website for October 2019 and AKL currently seems to be priced at over £5000 for 2 weeks!)

Have you tried looking at other travel agents? I've always found VH were the most expensive.
