Febuary or October?
We always normally go in February, the weather is normally ok and parks aren't too busy but our kids love Halloween so I was wondering how early October faired compared to Feb for crowds and weather? Anyone done both?

We've done October a few times. Always found it perfect weather - about 85, no rain, crowds ok, Not So Scary is on. We think its a great time to go.

Erm
"October has changed over the last couple of years. It used to be a pretty good time to visit WDW with light crowds most of the month. Unfortunately, that's changed. Now crowds are moderate to heavy for most of the month." (Avoid the first 2 weeks of October) Edited at 01:51 PM. |

Much better weather in my opinion, more crowds .
Been a few times in October and loved it weather wise no rain or very little rain.

We prefer to go in October but it has become much busier in the last few years.
Sometimes at the beginning of October you can get the hangover from any hurricanes still hanging about - good thing about that is the water parks etc are quiet, bad thing is the weather can be more humid/rainy than normal. At some point in October though it's like a switch goes off & the humidity disappears. The weather then is usually very reliably sunny & pleasant every day. Crowds-wise Universal has the Halloween Horror Nights which are very busy, but during the week both parks are not too bad. We went to HS at Disney last year on a Monday in October & it was heaving. Disney's halloween party MNSSHP is quite good if you've got young ones & is a cheaper way to access MK if you only go one day. |

Thanks we were planning on doing 2 weeks onsite and missing universal this time. But the way our work falls we would possibly only get to choose between the first 3 weeks in Oct and would need to be home for the weekend before Halloween. I’ll have to do a pros and cons sheet to compare them haha. Also just seen to get dining plan we have to arrive by 3rd Oct.

Yes October has got much busier, we have been last 2 weeks & beginning 2 weeks, not noticing any difference in crowds between it if i'm honest... Last time we went Avatar hadn't long opened so it was very busy in Disney, this time we go Star Wars will have just opened BUT to I'd rather be in a busy Florida than UK

We have been a few times in the October school holiday (middle 2 weeks in our area). It was hotter that February, full of Brits, mainly winter clothes in the shops! which seemed odd to us in that climate. But the biggest thing we noticed was that the pools were cold. In February the pools were heated and always felt warm, In October according to the resort it was considered still summer so no need to heat the water as warm. We used the pools much less.

I’ve heard from a few people that February is the sweet spot when it comes to good weather and lower crowds, but we’ve always done October and probably always will. I see it as extending the summer by a few more weeks
