I’ve been looking at this and looks pretty good for some tubing /chill time away from the parks.

Looks like you have to get there very early.

Do any Dibbers recommend?

Yes a great day out there is another thread running about tubbing there it's great fun we normally take a picnic or BBQ stuff including light in the bag coals and make a day of it
Don't forget the bug spray we wear water shoes some folks don't
You can hire tubes or take your own but you will need to blow them up
Mid week is better

Queues start at 6.30am

From reading their site and trip advisor there is a chance (although there’s a chance as seen on Disney property). Same for water snakes etc.

More likely to be in the undergrowth than the clear water (if any are there at all).

We went last summer and got there just around opening and got in no problem.

As for alligators and water snakes, never even gave them a thought before we went and luckily never saw any
