This is tricky to answer as you do not say if you need subtitles in a different language, if it is due to a hearing impairment the special assistance part of the VA website states:
Onboard entertainment
To enjoy our onboard entertainment, such as movies, our aircraft carry neck loops, which work in conjunction with the 'T' switch on a hearing aid.

There is also a selection of captioned movies available throughout your flight.

Here is the link to this page with contact info if that helps flywith.virginatlantic/g...-impaired.html

I do not know how good the selection of flights is but there should be something to watch for at least part of the trip and there may be an option for captions in other languages if this is something you need.

On delta there was an option to turn on and off subtitles when we flew on an internal Delta flight San Juan to JFK earlier this month.

Yes, I watched at least two movies with subtitles on on our Virgin flights. I don’t have a hearing impairment, I just prefer to watch tv with subtitles.

Hi I have a hearing impairment and due to the range of hearing loss I’m unable to get any benefit from aides. So I rely on subtitles. There are only a selection of films on the virgin ife that have subtitles. At least there are some though. Just may not be available for the films you want to watch.

If you have an iPad or tablet you can download films with subtitles ready to watch.

I watch most of the movies on Virgin with subtitles. Don’t have hearing problems except with their crap sound and background noise can’t understand a thing. Not all but most of them have subtitles and in several languages

What I would say is Delta headphones are Billabong and you can take them with you if you take them to use. They are the in ear type ones and so much better than the Virgin headphones. I used these on my last flight as did part Delta part Virgin

I always take my own headphones, have some good noise cancelling ones. They make such a difference!
